It's been a crazy time in Dubai some fabulous highs and a very big low. The low being I may not get home in the summer. With flight prices creeping up and my work not playing ball I am facing 6 weeks in the blistering heat throughout Ramadan without my people!!!! I haven't given up the fight with work yet and I am still keeping my fingers crossed. It's funny how you get on with life here just like at home working, looking after Maya, keeping house, having fun with friends, but it's not until you then start thinking of not getting home that you realize how much you miss it. For me I miss the people and the special relationships that you can't (and don't want) to replace. Watching my niece and nephew grow up via facebook and Skype is just not the same. Not being with my bestie as she moves through the realms of early motherhood is tough. Howver as I you can see from the pictures and countless facebook posts family life in Dubai is wonderful.
This weekend I had a wee trip in a limo for a night out with all my alcohol consuming mummas. It was wonderful. Thoroughly recommend ladies night at Blends, The Address Hotel in The Marina. Free cocktails from 9pm-1am!!!! Then we all literally danced till we dropped, bare feet all the way home as we all realized that not wearing big heels often = crippled ladies. Felt like a kid again when we all eventually arrived home at 4am and the call to prayer started. Sore feet or no sore feet we made a dash for our buildings, not wanting to be facebook foder the next day. I can just imaging the Remraam facebook page hahaha. Highlight of the weekend was our trip to Kite beach. Absolutely gorgeous and totally free, lying in the surf with the sun low to the west and a moon peeking out to the east. Building forts, searching for shells and of course I did my best impression of a beached whale. so keep your fingers crossed for me that I can come home and see you all soon xxxx Much love peeps xxx
